Updates on conversations with Marcela Johnson
11/6/03
Marcela came to me indicating that she is ill and has been for a week. She is unable to
keep food down and the doctor says it may be viral. She showed me a doctor’s excuse
for today the 6th and the 7th of November 2003 saying if she didn’t feel better, she would
be leaving.

Marcela left early today due to illness and was out on the 29"` sick as well.

gr received a call from Jeff Hanson in EOR about an incident that involved Marcela
Johnson. His indication was that she went over to the EOR area (right next to our team)
and while they were having a brief celebration, she asked them to be quiet so that her
team could make outbound calls to customers. He felt this was rude and uncalled for and
also indicated that there is another issue that is "bleeding" over to his group. 1 had a
meeting with Marcela 5 minutes after the call from Jeff During this meeting 1 told her
that her action was improper and uncalled for. She didn’t agree with me, but I restated
this information. l also asked her to let me know what her thoughts and observations
were about the "issue" between our team and our neighbor EOR team. She said that she
wasn’t talking to Ed on this team due to his interference with her personal phone calls
and the fact that he "butts” in on conversations between her and other members of the
team.
I probed more during the conversation and she told me that she hadn’t mentioned a HR
issue that had happened in the past. I told her that she should always bring these issues to
my attention immediately after they happened. I told her that delaying speaking to me is
unacceptable and that my job is to bring these issues to the proper people for
investigation. She said that "Ed had rubbed up against her." During this conversation I
had the feeling that she was trying to draw my attention away from her responsibility in
the other issue.
