Professional history synopsis
I am a Clinical Psychologist, a graduate of the Arizona State University Clinical
Psychology Training Program. I earned both the Masters Degree and Doctor of
Philosophy Degreu in this program. Prior to enrolbneut I graduated from San
Diego State college {1969} cum Laude with a Bachelors degree in Psychology.
Previously I attended St. Mary’s College in Moraga Ca. and also San Diego City
College in San Diego, Ca.
My clinical training included a year long practicum, two twenty hour per week
clerkships at the Arizona State Hospital while a graduate student at Arianna State
University. My pre-doctoral internship was completed at the Jayne Wayland Child
Guidance Center in Phoenix, Arizona. I also served two years of alternative Service
as a conscientious objector. This was as a Psychology Associate II at the Arizona
State Hospital. During that period I participated in the development ofthe Mental
Health Technology Program at the hospital and in the community. I was associate
faculty at Maricopa Technical College and co-authored (with Ronald F. l·lolIer
Ed.D.]| Human Services Technology {CN. Mosby, 1973}.
After completion of my internship I was employed until the closing of the centers
comprehensive mental health programs at Jane Wayland providing diagnostic and
treatment services to children and familim. After the program ended, I entered
private practice and have remained so employed since that time.
During this period I have specialized in the provision of services to the chronically
and seriously mentally ill (through 61'2·0tl0) as well as diagnostic and rehabilitation
services to the general public, social security applicants, as well as to various state
agencies.
My forensic experience has included examination and testimony in both criminal
and civil matters. I have appeared in the Superior Court of Maricopa County on
numerous occasions, in both juvenile and adult divisions. I have appeared in federal
court in Phoenix as well on a criminal matter. My work with the courts has
included competence examinations, basement of sexual predator risk associated
with the Arizona Community Protection Program. My work has also included
intellectual and psychiatric examination of death penalty eligible defendants in
accordance with recent Supreme Court requirements. I have been employed as an
expert witness in these matters by both defense and prosecution, including private
