====================================================================== PROCEEDINGS: Open Court X Chambers Other This is the time set for settlement conference. Present: Jeffrey F. Arbetman with plaintiff; John R. Mayfield and John Barklay with defendant's representative. A settlement conference is held and some progress was made. The court's order of October 26, 2006 required that "each party shall attend the settlement conference in person." When a governmental agency is involved, that body shall "appear through a representative having full binding settlement authority in addition to counsel." This requirement was not satisfied. IT IS THEREFORE ORDERED that defendants' counsel shall provide the court with the name of the individual with whom they spoke during the course of the mediation soliciting settlement authority. The name shall be provided by close of business on December 1, 2006. Upon receipt of the same, the court will schedule continued mediation and order the personal appearance of that individual.
