JOINT STATUS REPORT The United States has advised plaintiffs that the settlement has been approved subject to agreement on the documents and computations required to implement it. Preparation of these documents has required additional work by both parties because of the intricate nature of settling one, but not all, of the years subject to the TEFRA audit rules; however, this work has now been largely completed. The parties are currently calculating the final tax, penalty, and interest amounts relevant to the settlement. After those calculations are final and agreed upon by both parties, they will submit the settlement documents to its superiors for final approval.
