JOINT STATUS REPORT Pursuant to the Court's February 29, 2008 order, the parties, through their respective counsel of record, respectfully submit this joint status report regarding the parties' settlement negotiations. As represented in our last status report, we have determined a monetary amount that the Government's attorney is prepared to recommend to Department of Justice officials with the requisite authority, but we have not agreed upon other terms relating to the proposed settlement. The parties are still negotiating these other terms and respectfully request an additional 14 days from the date of this joint status report in order to determine whether a settlement may be reached. Accordingly, the parties respectfully request that they be permitted to submit another status report in 14 days, on or before April 14, 2008, regarding the progress of settlement negotiations, or to the extent an agreement cannot be reached, to suggest further proceedings for this matter. Should the parties resolve this matter prior to April 14, 2008, the parties will submit the appropriate document to this Court.
