JOINT STATUS REPORT Pursuant to the Court's February 12, 2008 order, the parties, through their respective counsel of record, respectfully submit this joint status report regarding the parties' settlement negotiations. In our last joint status report, we represented to the Court that we have determined a monetary amount that the Government's attorney is prepared to recommend to Department of Justice officials with the requisite authority, but we have not agreed upon other terms relating to the proposed settlement. The parties are still negotiating these other terms and respectfully request an additional 30 days from the date of this joint status report in order to determine whether a settlement may be reached. Accordingly, the parties respectfully request that they be permitted to submit another status report in 30 days, on or before March 31, 2008, regarding the progress of settlement negotiations, or to the extent an agreement cannot be reached, to suggest further proceedings for this matter. Should the parties resolve this matter prior to March 31, 2008, the parties will submit the appropriate document to this Court.
