The court has before it the defendant's motion to modify conditions of supervised release (doc. 256), the government's response, the defendant's reply, and a memorandum dated August 22, 2006 from the probation department. The defendant wants to travel to Mexico to check up on his business there. The government and the probation department oppose the motion because the defendant's crime involved the distribution of marijuana from Mexico to the United States. The government argues that the defendant can have his books and records brought to the United States for examination here. The probation officer does not want his supervisee to be traveling to Mexico. The concerns of the United States and the probation officer are meritorious and the need to travel to Mexico when the documents can be brought to the United States is

unexplained. Accordingly, IT IS ORDERED DENYING the defendant's motion to modify conditions of supervised release (doc. 256). DATED this 28th day of August, 2006.
