. Case # CR02-00394 Pl-lX·EHC
Dear Judge Carroll: ·
I was sentenced in your court on June 2, 2003. I received a 71 month sentence, the top end of
my guidelines. I was ordered to complete the residential drug abuse program (RDAP)-
I want to inform you of my accomplishments while incarcerated. I complete RDAP on Sept. 2,
2005. I have furthered my education with numerous classes while here at FMC-FTW. The
classes are as follows: Car Sales, Business Management, Public Speaking, Health and Fitness.
Body Comp, Bike Class, Runrwalk Class, 40 Hour Drug Abuse Program, Anger Management,
and Money Management. I am enclosing copies of all my certifications. I am also enclosing
_ my most recent progress report from this Institution. As you can see, I have received no
incident reports. I also have an excellent work history during my time here. I was trained
to be a patient care attendant in the hospital, caring for ill and elderly patients. I have been
working In this capacity for almost two years now. My assessment fees have been paid
and I'm working on getting a degree in physical education.
My reason for this letter is to inform you that I have made a huge effort to take every opportunity
i avaliable to better myself while here. Although I will complete RDAP, FMC-FTW has a policy
" thatinmates with gun charges or a 2 point enhancement for a gun will not receive time off for
completion of RDAP, unless his sentencing judge orders it. Sir, I believe I have overcome many
E issues since I have been in your court. I know my progress here shows that. I have also I
enclosed a letter from my parents. You also ordered in my judgement that I complete boot ‘
I camp. Bureau of Prison policy states if your sentence is over 60 months, you don‘t qualify for
I that program. Furthermore, you ordered that I be released to the district of Nevada. I have been
I denied being released to that district. I am now planning to relocate to Dallas, TX and plan to
live with my sister.
Your Honor, I ask if you would consider ordering that I receive the time off allowed for
completion of RDAP. I know I'm ready to get back to society and lead a drug free life. My
children .
· are growing up and they need guidance and support on a more regular basis than I can provide it
I from in here. I would also like to see my grandmother before she passes away. She is 92 years
L old and I would like her to see me no longer incarcerated and knowing that I will be around io.
I take care of my family. l em tnrly thankful for coming to prison because I know without a
I doubt that it saved me from myself with the issues I had then, and possibly saved my life.
a Thank you so much for your time and consideration.
. Sincerely, g
I [if,}
