KADJUSTMENTS
Notes:
This adjustment is performed in situations when the claim has closed and i
then needs to be reopened so that benefits may resume again, ie. insured did
not qualify for a period of residual, or the insured tried returning to work
full time and then went back on disability.
1. The examiner registers the claim.
2. Enters an "X" next to REOPEN and/or an "X" next to RECALC WAIV if applies
and a REOPEN DATE. lf no money has been paid on the claim and the claim
needs to be reopened during the waiting period then enter EP DYS.
Otherwise no EP DYS are needed.
M 3. Then enters a "Y" to process the data.
. 1; 4. The system will display the payment screen with the new begin dates
reflecting the reopen. At this point the next payment may be made.
5. Then the Action Screen is displayed for processing.
6. lf a payment was made the system will display the payment release screen.
7. lf the examiner elects not to end the adjustment and enters a "N" in
End Adj on the Action Screen the system will goto the Payment Release
Screen and then to the Adjustment Screen otherwise the system will display
the Payment Release Screen.
8. Then the system redisplays the Selection Screen. · -
NOTE: The form letter screen will display before the Selection Screen
if a form letter was requested on the Action Screen. Also, if a Action
Log Reason code was requested on the Action Screen the Action Log Update
screen will display before the Selection Screen.
