This matter is presently set for Change of Plea Hearing on September 27, 2005. The Defendant has filed a motion to continue and for the reasons set forth therein, additional time is required in order to have the plea read to the defendant by a certified court interpreter. The government has no objection to the continuance. The Court finds that the ends of justice served by granting a continuance outweigh the best interests of the public and the defendant in a speedy trial because failure to grant the continuance is likely to result in a miscarriage of justice if the defendant is required to take the plea and not understand what he is pleading to. IT IS HEREBY ORDERED THAT the Change of Plea Hearing date is continued to the 31st day of October, 2005 at 11:00 a.m. before the Honorable Judge Paul G. Rosenblatt.
