1 5 Ronald Holt, by and through undersigned counsel, hereby requests that the Court continue
1 6 the hearing of August 8, 2005. The hearing is unnecessary as the Respondent and the
I 7 Governmental agencies have verbally reached agreements on a resolution of this matter. The
I 8 parties are now simply waiting for the agencies to obtain fmal approval ofthe proposed
I 9 settlements in this matter. The settlements would result in judgments against Mr. Holt; he is
2 0 aware ofthe settlement and the amounts of the judgments.
2 II. The hearing would simply be a waste of resources at this point. Nevertheless, the
2 2 agencies are not in agreement with this request and wish to proceed to hearings on Monday.
2 3 Respondent is sure that the agencies fear that Mr. Holt will not sign the agreements or do
2 41 something to obstruct the process and are thus reluctant to continue any hearing in this matter. A
2 5 continuance of the hearing would eliminate any fear of the agencies and would still hold Mr.
2 6 Holt’s feet to the proverbial tire.
