The United States of America has previously filed its response to the motion of defendant

16 Lawrence Leon Jackson, to Vacate, Set Aside, or Correct Sentence pursuant to 28 U.S.C. § 17 2255. Since the filing of that response, defendant has indicated a willingness to waive his 18 attorney client privilege regarding the matters he asserted in his motion. While the government 19 has argued in its previous pleadings and still believes that these matters can be decided based 20 on the pleadings and without any additional hearings, the government has attempted to obtain 21 additional information related to the claim of ineffective assistance of counsel. In that regard, 22 the government sent the relevant pleadings to defendant's trial counsel, John Rood. Mr. Rood 23 responded to the allegations with the letter that is attached to this pleading.
