Re: United States v. Enrigue Vega-Castaneda
04CR—00847-001-PHX-EHC
Dear Janalyn:
As we discussed yesterday over the telephone, Mr. Vega, and the Court, would like to know what became of
the S 1,201 that was seized from him during his arrest. I advised the Court that the money is presently undergoing
forfeiture proceedings and that Border Patrol's forfeiture unit was unable to afford the defendant notice because he
provided a foreign and invalid address. I also advised the Court that I would obtain Mr. Vega's new address, so that
he can receive notice of the forfeiture and contest it should he desire to do so.
Please send Mr. Vega notice of the forfeiture to the following address: -
Central Arizona Detention Center ·
Emique Vega-Castaneda
USM# 63958-208
P.O. Box 6300
Florence AZ 85232
Additionally, I am providing your contact information to Gregory Torok, Mr. Vega's attomey, so that he may
contact you should he act on Mr. Vega's behalf regarding the forfeiture.
Thank you very much for your assistance.
Sincerely,
PAUL K. CHARLTON
