Honorable Judge Martone
Sandra Day O‘Connor U.S.
Courthouse Suite 130
401 W. Washington St. Spcl
Phoenix, AZ 85025
RE: Gonzalez-Gonzalez, David Enrique #82702-008
Docket: CR04-00859-001-PHX-F
Dear Judge Martone:
Recently our staff was reviewing the Central File for GonzaIez—GonzaIez. We noticed what may
be an administrative oversight, in that staff at his initially designated facility did not respond to the
c0urt’s recommendation. Therefore, we are taking the liberty of providing the following information.
On June 20, 2005, the above referenced inmate appeared in your court and was committed to the
custody of th Federal Bureau of Prisons for a period of seventy months for Possession With Intent
to Distribute 5 Kilos or More of Cocaine. He was transferred to this facility on November 29, 2005,
for the purpose of fulfilling the above sentence, after which he will be deported to Mexico. The
court recommended he be placed at an institution where he can be evaluated for any substance
abuse treatment program he might be eligible for.
Cibola County Correctional Center is under contract with the Federal Bureau of Prisons to provide
for the custody needs of inmates who have sixty months or less remaining on their sentence, and
who are awaiting deportation to their countries of origin.
We want to inform the court that we do not have a drug treatment program established, therefore
we are unable to follow your recommendation for Mr. Gonzaiez—GonzaIez to participate in a drug
treatment program. However, we do offer Substance Abuse Education and will recommend to Mr.
Gonzalez-Gonzalez that he participate. Should you have any additional question regarding this
issue of mutual concern, please let me know.
Respectfully,
en . Co r
