R. Evid. 702 at the trial of this matter. As part of its evidence, the government intends to call a DNA analyst as an expert witness pursuant to Rule 702 to testify regarding the comparison of DNA found on a firearm at the scene, with DNA exemplars from the two defendants. DNA analyst Mark Smith from the Arizona Department of Public Safety Crime Laboratory is expected to testify regarding this issue.
