I serve as local counsel to the plaintiff AES Puerto Rico, L.P. in this matter. As the Court
is aware, my co-counsel from thc Williams & Connelly firm are actively preparing for trial.
Because (for our part) the case will be tried exclusively by members ofthe Williams &
Connolly firm, all of whom have been admitted pro hoc vice, I write to respectfully request that I
be excused from the pretrial conference and trial. For ease of reference, I note that under the
Court's April 28, 2006 Order the pretrial conference is scheduled for September 14, 2006 at
10:30 a.m., and trial is scheduled to commence on October I6, 2006 at 9:30 a.m.
