IN THE UNITED STATES DISTRICT COURT FOR THE DISTRICT OF COLORADO

Civil Action No. 01-cv-1451-REB-CBS (consolidated with Civil Action Nos. 01-RB-1472, 01-RB-1527, 01-RB-1616, 01-RB1799, 01-RB-1930, 01-RB-2083, 02-RB-0333, 02-RB-0374, 02-RB-0507, 02-RB-0658, 04-RB-0238, and 02-RB-755) In re QWEST COMMUNICATIONS INTERNATIONAL, INC. SECURITIES LITIGATION

UNOPPOSED MOTION OF ARTHUR ANDERSEN LLP FOR LEAVE TO FILE OVERSIZED BRIEF

Defendant Arthur Andersen LLP ("Andersen") submits this motion for leave to file an oversized brief in support of its Opposition to Lead Plaintiffs' Motion for Class Certification ("Motion"). This relief is appropriate for the following reasons: 1. Lead Plaintiffs' Motion proposes a class period of thirty-three months and

raises numerous and complex factual and legal issues regarding the propriety of class certification under the multiple requirements of Rule 23. 2. This Court's Practice Standards for civil actions provide that motions and

responses shall not exceed fifteen (15) pages. 3. Given the number and complexity of the issues raised by Lead Plaintiffs'

Motion, Andersen cannot fully and adequately address the allegations within this page limitation. 4. At eighteen (18) pages, the text of Andersen's brief opposing Lead

Plaintiffs' Motion is reasonable in length.

Pursuant to Local Rule 7.1(A), counsel for Andersen has conferred with

counsel for Plaintiffs regarding this motion. Plaintiffs do not oppose the motion. WHEREFORE, Andersen respectfully requests that the Court enters an order granting it leave to file an Opposition to Class Certification exceeding the page limitation set forth in the Court's Practice Standards for civil actions, and granting Lead Plaintiffs an enlargement of equal length (i.e., an additional three pages) for their reply to Andersen's opposition. A proposed order is attached. Respectfully submitted this 30th day of June 2005.
