Dear Judge Murguia,
Please find it in your heart to release my son, Keith Daniel Priest, from the 18 month
prison sentence. He has tried to live his life according to law. There are tens of _,,_
thousands of people who live by the Common Laws and do not file tax returns. That is
their choice and they do not expect financial handouts Eom the government. He told me
he has written 60 letters to the IRS without one response. Keith has never hurt anyone.
He has done everything he was told to do concerning the trial. While awaiting the trial he
was also under a lot of pressure due to both of his parents being hospitalized and close to
death.
He feels his very soul has been taken from him. He is just trying to defend himself]
according to law. He has never been in trouble. After the trial he was told he would not
have a prison sentence and was literally shocked when he was sentenced. He has lost his
livelihood, his vehicle, nearly all of his beiongings, has been humiliated and feels the
pain his family and friends feel for him. He has been a prisoner ofthe court. He has been
punished more than anyone can know. I do, I am l1is mother. Very few people live by the
high standards that Keith does. He has integrity, accountability and is very trustworthy.
He believes with all his heart and soul that he has the right to live as a free person.
Please, please consider this matter seriously. His dad and I are deeply concerned about
his wellbeing and his future.
