Defendant DANIEL SAMANIEGO-CACHON, by and through undersigned counsel, hereby requests the Court appoint Dr. Mark Walters, a psychologist, for purposes of determining whether Defendant is competent to stand trial. Defendant is demonstrating signs of mental instability during interviews with counsel. WHEREFORE, as the Defendant's mental capacity is an issue for trial, Defendant requests that the Court appoint Dr. Walters to do an evaluation of the Defendant's mental competency.
