CT OF THE ABDOMEN I
REASON FOR EXAMINATION: History of hepatitis.
Computerized axial tomography of the abdomen was performed. The
scan was performed first through the liver after oral and without
intravenous contrast. Intravenous contrast was then administered
in the form of 118 cc of Conray"6·0*and rescanning was performed.
Scanning was performed from the domegof the diaphragm through the
iliac crest. Scanning was performedat 8 mm intervals with 8 mm
slice thickness. Soft tissue, flung and liver windows wer"e” c
utilized. Delayed scans were obtained through the excretory phase »
of the kidneys. Scans through the inferior aspect of the chest .

pleural base nodules. V * ‘
Scans through the abdomen demonstrate the liver to be of normal
attenuation, size or attenuationfsize and configuration. No
unusual cysts or masses are identified within the liver. There is
no evidence of intrahepatic ductalgdilatation. The gallbladder is
seen in a distended state without evidence of intraluminal filling
defects. M ¤?¥’ .
The spleen is visualized and iitjappears of normal size and
configuration. No unusual cysts,or‘· masses are identified within
the spleen. The kidneys are Sg¢;—vV;q}V_;O¤;€¤¤xaue and excrete the

hydronephrosis or hydroureter;. The adrenal glands are visualized
and appear of normal size and configuration.
The pancreas is visualized and appears of normal size and
configuration. No unusual cysts or masses are identified in or
around the pancreas. The fascial planes about the pancreas are
maintained. There is a nonobstructed bowel gas pattern. No
evidence of abdominal adenopathy. No free—fluid is identified
within the abdomen. No unusual cysts or masses are seen. The
visualized vascular system appears within =’_ normal limits.
