In this case, the plaintiff, Lewis Silverman, alleges that the defendant, Albertsons, his former employer, unlawfully discriminated against him by discharging him from his job because he is Jewish, in violation of Title VII of federal civil rights law. Albertsons denies that it discriminated against Mr. Silverman. Albertsons states that it discharged Mr. Silverman because he improperly possessed company property.
