("Varco") and Defendant Pason Systems USA Corp. ("Pason"), by and through their counsel, respectfully submit this joint motion requesting that the Court schedule a final pretrial conference and trial date in this action. In support hereof, the parties state as follows: 1. On December 28, 2006, Varco and Pason submitted a Proposed Markman

Briefing Schedule (Docket #134), which the Court accepted by Order dated January 2, 2007 (Docket #135). 2. Varco and Pason have now submitted all briefs and claim charts required

by the Court's Order. Accordingly, the claim construction issues are now ripe for the Court's determination. 3. A Markman hearing has not yet been scheduled.

WHEREFORE, Varco and Pason respectfully request that the Court schedule a final pretrial conference after the Court's ruling on claim construction, to be held as soon as the Court's docket will permit. The parties also respectfully request that this case be set for a jury trial as soon as reasonably practicable after the final pretrial conference.
