JOINT STATUS REPORT Defendant, the United States, respectfully submits this status report updating the Court regarding the status of settlement in the above captioned case. Undersigned counsel for the Government has prepared the required settlement memorandum and draft settlement agreement. The draft settlement agreement has been provided to plaintiff's counsel, subject to the Government's settlement memorandum being approved, as well as any revisions by either party. The

settlement memorandum has undergone preliminary review at the Department of Justice, and is in the process of modification for submission to the authorized representative of the Attorney General.
