The Department has no authority to grant additional time beyond April 1 for filing of the annual report. If you do not complete Florida Mileage data at that time, we will use data submitted to us by the respective Florida railroads. We must, however, have complete car description and cost data as well as total system miles both loaded and empty for your fleet operating in Florida. If you have any questions concerning filing this return, please call the Central Assessment Section in Tallahassee, Fl at 850-488-9483 or 850-414-7414 (Fax number 850-488-8280). Instructions for completing the Car Description and Cost Data worksheet (on page 2). Column A. Year Acquired or Capital Improvement Made: Date that the reporting company acquired or made the capital improvement, regardless of year originally built. Column B. Car Numbers From - To: State individual car numbers, or sequence of numbers for cars acquired in same year. Car numbers must correspond with the number of cars owned and leased (Column E). Column C. Reporting Marks: list initials of all cars. If all cars have same initials, you need only list once. Column D. Type of Car: State type of car, Flat, Hopper, etc. Column E. No. Cars Owned and/or leased: list number of cars corresponding to Column A (year acquired). leased cars should be shown separately. Column F. Original Cost to Present Owner: Include actual cost to present owner, regardless of original cost at date built.

Column G. Capital Improvements. Include all capital improvements associated with car fleet since their acquisition. Enter the cost data on the date that the actual improvement was made. All cost of additions, such as protective equipment, racks and special apparatus, must be included in this column. Column H. Add columns F and G. Column I. Column J. Depreciation Factor. Fair Market Value (Depreciated Cost.) Multiply columns H and I.
